Our client came to us having purchased a house with great bones but exhausted interiors. Together we re-jigged the layout, helped by our architect, to suit the client's growing family.
A big part of this project was the requirement to re-do the loft floor which was rather dark and cramped. The result is a light-filled, welcoming and airy top floor with plenty of space for study and working from home as well as space for house guests.
The ground floor layout was changed only minimally but we are delighted with the addition of the oriel window which acts as a cosy seating nook in the kitchen. The family has a lot of bicycles so we created a deeper cellar with space for all the bicycles as well as plenty of storage. Storage being in our minds completely essential, we built bespoke wardrobes in all the bedrooms and a library wall at the top of the house with a floating seat nearby for quiet reading under the skylight.
The client was delightful to work with and we were rather sad to leave at the end of this lovely project!
